Violent Attack on Elderly Man With Wheelchair Leaves Him With Broken Pelvis, Internal Bleeding: NYPD

A 77-year-old man was knocked over ifn a Bronx attack that put him in the hospital with broken bones and serious bleeding, police say.

The NYPD says the beating was sparked by some sort of argument around 7 a.m. Sunday in Allerton, however, they didn’t know exactly what was said between the two.

Officials said the suspect, in his 20s, walked up to the 77-year-old as he pushed his wheelchair and said some words to him. A brief time later, the suspect pushed the elderly victim to the ground so severely it broke pelvis, police said.

The suspect then picked the victim up and put him back into his wheelchair before he wheeled himself away, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to an area hospital to be treated for his broken and pelvis as well as internal bleeding.
