  • Police have released footage of the gunman, and are asking for help identifying suspects

The NYPD has released footage showing the moment a corrections officer was gunned down as she sat in her car in Brooklyn on Monday.

Police are now asking for the public's help identifying two men and a car seen in the surveillance footage.

Alastasia Bryan, known as Stacey, was on her way to work, just steps from her mother’s house in the Flatlands, when a man came up and fired into the vehicle. Police said she was shot multiple times in the head and torso, and pronounced dead at the scene.

In the footage released Thursday, authorities said a suspect could be seen walking up to the 25-year-old's car and firing multiple shots into the driver's side window.

The suspect then fled westbound on Avenue L, to a gold or tan-colored four-door Hyundai Elantra sedan. Bryan was just one month on the job when she was gunned down.

Police believe it was a targeted killing, but a motive is unknown.

The plea for information comes days after friends, family and supporters gathered in Brooklyn to mourn Bryan's death.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
