Subway riders had an unwelcome passenger when a rat climbed on an A train.
A new video surfaced Tuesday that shows a brazen rat scaring riders on a crowded subway car, who scream and leap up onto the seats to get away from the rodent.
Tayser Abuhamdeh, a sophomore at Borough of Manhattan Community College, told NBC New York he shot the video on his way to school last Friday on the A train.
The rat appeared to board the train at High Street in Brooklyn, he said.
"Everybody started jumping up on the chairs," said Abuhamdeh. "It jumped on some guy's leg and he started shaking like crazy."
That's when Abuhamdeh took out his phone to record the chaos. The video shows frightened passengers, including children, panicking as the rat scurries about the car.
"There's a rat on the train!" one person says.
"It's behind you, man," says another.
Abuhamdeh said his cousin was yelling at him that they should get off the train to get away from the rat, but he refused.
"I said I was going to be late for class," he said.
The rat scampered off the train at Fulton Street.
