New York City lost one of its bravest this morning when firefighter Gary Valentino passed away after being found unconscious at a Bronx fire house.
Valentino, 40, was found unconscious at the quarters of Engine 72 in the Bronx early this morning, Fire Commissioner Sal Cassano announced today.
FDNY officials said Office of the Chief Medical is examining the cause of death and no foul play is suspected.
The veteran firefighter, who had served the city for over 12 years, was assigned to Engine 43 in the Bronx and was working as a chief’s aide in the 7th Division.
