Vandals Drive Stolen Van Through L.I. Cemetery

Police are looking for two men who allegedly stole a Town of Hempstead van and drove it through a cemetery in Uniondale, damaging a large headstone and the vehicle, before ditching the van among the graves and running off.

Authorities say the suspects entered a building inside Greenfield Cemetery through an unlocked window and stole the keys to the van, which was already on cemetery property.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
