Crowds of revelers young and old gathered at Dante Park for the annual Lincoln Square Holiday Tree Lighting Monday night.

The lighting kicked off the 11th Annual Winter's Eve celebration, which organizers say is the city's largest outdoor holiday celebration.

Guests of the free event were treated to live music by Eileen Ivers, the Anat Cohen Quartet and John Pizzarelli.  Other performers included the Big Apple Circus, the Hungry March Band and the cast of the hit Broadway musical, "Billy Elliot."

For a few hours, city sidewalks along Broadway from the Time Warner Center through West 68th Street were overflowing with holiday activities, street musicians, juggling clowns and more.

Over two dozen neighborhood restaurants provided free tastings for people stopping by.

The event was sponsored by the Lincoln Center Business Improvement District and Time Warner.
