1 Resident, 5 Firefighters Injured in UES Fire

A fire in an Upper East Side apartment building Saturday night injured firefighters and one resident, officials said.

The fire began in a grocery store on the first floor of a five-story building located at 1566 Third Ave., between 87th and 88th streets.

A woman found passed out in the building was carried out by firefighters. She was treated at the scene before being taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, officials said.

Five firefighters suffered minor injuries.
