90-Minute Delays Inbound Upper Level of the GWB; Several Subway Lines Mucked Up

The George Washington Bridge into the upper level tolls was experiencing delays up to 90 minutes on the inbound side because of an accident on the Cross Bronx Expressway by Webster Avenue. There is also another crash westbound by Jerome Avenue.

Meanwhile, several subway lines were running with extensive delays because of an unauthorized person on the tracks, the MTA says.

The FDNY and NYPD were on the scene to remove the person from the tracks. The MTA said around 6:20 that service had resumed, but delays remained. Delays remained during the height of the morning rush.

There was no F train service in both directions between Avenue X and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. Shuttle buses were being provided.

There was no Q train service in both directions between Kings Highway and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.

Even though service is back up and running, commuters should still extensive expect delays in B, F and Q train service in both directions.

On Sunday, a power failure halted service on several lines between Manhattan and Brooklyn for hours. A ConEd power failure at the Jay St.-Metro Tech station was blamed for the disruption.
