Uber Delivers Puppies in NYC Ahead of Animal Planet's ‘Puppy Bowl'

Wednesday was a lot cuter for some New Yorkers thanks to Uber, Animal Planet and a couple area animal shelters.

The ride-hailing service delivered puppies on Wednesday for a “15 minute cuddle huddle” ahead of Animal Planet’s yearly "Puppy Bowl" on Sunday, according to Uber.

Here’s how it worked: Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., users opened the Uber app and selected the “puppies” option. For $30, a “puppy squad” and a coach arrived for a fiercely adorable competition between Team Ruff and Team Fluff.

Animal lovers also got the chance to give the puppies a forever home by adopting them.

Pooches from Bidawee, the Humane Society of New York and the Liberty Humane Society  all participated in the event.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the shelters and will be matched by Animal Planet.

It's the second year Uber has done puppy deliveries. Last year, more than 70 dogs were adopted and Uber raised $12,000 for shelters nationwide.
