UWS Water Main Break Leaves Residents Without Water

Residents are left without water.

A water main break on the Upper West Side has resulted in street closures and some residents are without water, authorities say.

The water main break happened Saturday morning at 9 a.m on West 82nd Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West. Officials shut down this block to traffic.

The Department of Environmental Protection is in the process of excavating and making repairs to the 12-inch water main, which was built in 1955.
