Truck Smashes Into Corner of Subway Restaurant, Demolishes Car Outside

Incredibly, no one was hurt, according to police

A truck smashed into the corner of a Subway restaurant in Connecticut Tuesday, demolishing a blue sedan but miraculously injuring no one, authorities say.

Photos from the dramatic scene on Farmington Avenue show the truck slightly tilted, its back right wheel up over the hood of the smaller vehicle.

Authorities say the driver was going west on Route 4, near Knollwood Road, when he suddenly veered off the road and hit a utility pole. He then crashed into the parked car before hitting the corner of the building shortly before 11:30 a.m.

The driver may have had a medical emergency at the time of the accident, officials say.

Police say no one was in the car that was hit. The truck didn't go into the building, but caused extensive damage to an outside corner.
