A high wind advisory is in effect for the tri-state, as bone-chilling winds pushed through the region and made some parts feel as cold as 2 below Wednesday, Storm Team 4.
Flurries Tuesday evening left as much as 1 inch of snow on parts of the mid-Hudson Valley and northwestern New Jersey, Storm Team 4 says. Areas closer to New York City may have seen a coating on grassy areas, Storm Team 4 says.
Skies should clear as winds kick up and temperatures drop into the teens and 20s. Gusts of up to 50 mph made it feel like it was below zero degrees in some areas, while other areas saw single-digit wind chills.
A stray shower or flurry is possible well inland Wednesday morning, otherwise it should remain dry, cold, with temperatures in the low 30s, and windy as high pressure builds. Gusts of up to 50 mph were possible, primarily earlier in the day.
Thursday and Friday should both be a little warmer ahead of what could be a wet weekend, Storm Team 4 says.
