A person was killed early Tuesday after being hit by a Long Island Rail Road train while trespassing on the tracks near Syosset, MTA officials said.

The Huntington-bound train hit the trespasser near Syosset's station about 12:45 a.m., according to the official. The person's identity hasn't been released yet.

Trains were stopped for a few hours early Tuesday.
