MTA Worker Struck, Killed by Train in Queens

A transit worker helping with a track project in Queens died after being hit by a subway early Wednesday, the MTA said.

The agency said the worker, identified as 58-year-old Louis Moore, was part of a crew finishing up some work on the tracks at the 46th Street station in Astoria when a northbound E train rolled into the station at about 3:20 a.m. and struck him.

Moore was pronounced dead at the scene; no one else was hurt.

Authorities are investigating.

Some trains were delayed for a time while police and MTA investigators assessed the scene. They were back up and running with residual delays in time for the morning rush.
