NJ Transit Train Strikes, Kills Woman in Short Hills

Trains on the Morris & Essex Line are back on schedule after an NJ Transit train struck and killed a woman on the tracks at Short Hills station.     

NJ Transit spokeswoman Penny Bassett Hackett says Train 6600 had left Dover station at 4:30 a.m. with about 70 passengers aboard when it struck the woman around 5 a.m.     

The passengers were transferred to another train.     

There were delays of up to an hour between Dover and Hoboken and Dover and New York's Penn Station until 8:45 a.m.     

The death remains under investigation.
