FDR Reopens After Stuck Truck Snarls Traffic

The FDR reopened after a truck stuck under an overpass caused massive headaches for commuters this morning.

All southbound lanes had been closed between 96th Street and 79th Street after the car carrier got stuck. Workers have since been able to remove it.

Commuters were advised to expect major traffic delays, but by 9 a.m., it appeared the situation was clearing up. If you still want to avoid the FDR southbound, look to the avenues or the West Side Highway as alternate routes.

Tractor-trailers aren't permitted on the FDR Drive because of height restrictions.
