Accident Causes Massive Delays on NYC-Bound LIE

    An overnight accident left morning rush-hour traffic backed up for miles on the westbound Long Island Expressway.     

    Newsday says police described it as a fatal accident, but had no further details.

    Police said the expressway around Exit 41 in Jericho was expected to remain closed throughout the morning rush hour.     

    The accident occurred around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
