Teen Charged With Beating Toddler

17-month-old remains in critical condition with bruises all over his body.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with assault in connection with the brutal beating of a 17-month-old boy found unconscious at his Brooklyn foster home.

Brooklyn prosecutors charged Kysheen Oliver Monday. He was arrested Sunday. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.

Police say Oliver was the foster mother's boyfriend.

Police say she left Kymel Oram in Oliver's care while she took two older children to school on Thursday.

They say Kymel suffered a lacerated liver, torn bruised spleen and buttocks and broken ribs. He is critically injured.

The city's Administration for Children's Services has asked the Family Court to place the other two children into the agency's protective custody.
