Time to Decide Between the Yankees and Your iPad

If you’re addicted to the plethora of apps on your iPad, then don’t consider going to the Yankee Stadium.

The Bronx ballpark has a policy that prohibits fans from bringing laptops inside—and Apple’s newest iPads are included in that ban.

Though every player has a computer screen at his locker, the security-and-safety issues that laptops may cause triggered the policy.

According to Newsday, a Yankees representative said Monday that portable computers, including the iPad, present unique screening challenges and thus aren't allowed for security reasons.

Major League Baseball says the issue of allowing iPads into stadiums is a team-by-team decision.

The Mets, Angels and Mariners are among the clubs that permit the tablet computers.
