Police reopened the Throgs Neck Bridge after shutting it down in both directions earlier this morning while they investigated a suspicious vehicle beneath the span. The vehicle turned out to be harmless.

The southbound lanes of the Throgs Neck Bridge had been closed in both directions at 6:15 a.m. Thursday while police checked out a 2009 Nissan left running under the bridge. All lanes were reopened by 7:30 a.m.

The span connects Queens and the Bronx.
