1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Gang-Motivated Shooting in Brooklyn: NYPD

Police say one person was killed and two others were injured in a gang-motivated shooting in Brooklyn Thursday night.

Isaiah Cicero, 21, died after being shot multiple times on Saratoga Avenue in Brownsville, according to the NYPD. Two other men were both shot in their arms and are in stable condition at an area hospital.

Surveillance video showed the three men hanging out in front of a building when suddenly one of them stands up, apparently alarmed by something out of sight. He runs into the building, and the other two follow quickly behind.

A man wearing a mask then appears in the frame of the video, seen chasing right behind the men holding a gun, before running away.

Neighbor Crystal Carl saw the victims at her doorstep.

"When I opened the door, you had one guy standing up, holding his wrist; next young man was right down the stairs from me, he had a big gash on his arm. And the other one was on his stomach. That was the saddest part," she said.

Police say that they went to the scene after being alerted by the NYPD's Shot Spotter system.

Authorities say that Cicero and the other two victims, 22-year-old Taariq Smith and 19-year-old Miles Sydney, were purported members of the Crips street gang.

No arrest has been made. Police are investigating.
