The Show Will Go On: Broadway Reopens After Blizzard

After canceling performances on Monday evening due to the snowstorm, the curtain will rise again tonight on Broadway, as many shows will resume performances Jan. 27.

Only two Broadway shows have canceled performances: “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” -- both from Disney Theatrical Productions. The company is offering complimentary ticket exchanges for performances.

Everything else, from “Beautiful” and “The Book of Mormon” to “Wicked” and “You Can’t Take It With You,” will perform as scheduled.

Many shows are offering exchange opportunities if ticketholders cannot make tonight’s performance due to travel conditions. Contact your point of purchase for information about exchanges.

Theatergoers should also keep an eye out on social media, as many shows often offer snow discounts for last-minute sales.

On Jan. 26, three Broadway productions -- “Chicago,” “Mamma Mia!” and “The Phantom of the Opera” -- had canceled performances, after a massive winter storm forced city and state officials to put travel restrictions into place.

Off-Broadway productions and concert venues are also expected to resume performances today.
