Teens Rob Man Walking Through Central Park, Force Him to ATM: NYPD

Police say they are looking for two teens who approached a man in Central Park and forced him to go to an ATM and give them money.

The man was walking inside Central Park in the area of West 107th Street and West Drive just before 11 p.m Sunday when the two suspects approached him from behind and asked him what time it was, police said.

The victim took his cellphone from his pocket to check the time and one of the teens took it from him, ordering him to empty his pockets.

The man gave the suspects his wallet, which contained his ATM and credit cards. Then, one of the suspects ordered him to go to an ATM and give them money, police said. The victim complied and gave each suspect an unknown amount of cash in exchange for his cellphone and wallet, police said.

The teens fled into Central Park at West 108th Street.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspects, who they say are about 15 years old. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
