Police: Boy, 16, Fatally Shot on Long Island

Police discovered the boy late Friday evening on Bennett Avenue in Hempstead while responding to a 911 call

    A 16-year-old boy died Saturday after being found by police with a gunshot wound on a Long Island Street, police said.

    Police discovered Robert Brown, of Westbury, late Friday evening on Bennett Avenue in Hempstead while responding to a 911 call, according to the Nassau County Police Department. He was brought to a local hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead shortly after 2 a.m.

    Police are investigating. They're asking anyone with information to call their anonymous hotline, at 1-800-244-TIPS.
