NYPD Seeks 5 Men in Gang Rape at Brooklyn Playground

Police are asking for the public's help to identify five men wanted in connection with the gang rape of a young woman in a Brooklyn playground.

The NYPD released a surveillance video of the suspects entering a bodega prior to the attack.

The 18-year-old victim and her father were walking through Osborn Playground in Brownsville at around 9 p.m. Friday when the two were approached by five men, investigators said.

One man brandished a gun and told the teenager's father to leave the area, police said. The girl's father then ran for help, but by the time he returned with two police officers, the five men had raped the teenager and fled, authorities said.

Police described the attackers as men in their 20s and 30s. The man with the gun was heavyset and wearing a red jacket and black pants at the time.

The teenager was taken to Kings County Hospital where she was treated and released.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential.
