A man found dead in a Washington Heights apartment has been identified as the son of former ABC anchor Ted Koppel, police said today.
Detective John Sweeney said Andrew Koppel, 40, was declared dead around 1:30 a.m. Monday in a Washington Heights apartment. The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
Police said Koppel lived in Queens. He was one of Koppel's four sons.
His father, Ted Koppel, was the longtime anchor of ABC's news show "Nightline.'' A call to his publicist was not immediately returned.
