The last remaining items from New York City's famed Tavern on the Green restaurant are being sold off.

Guernsey's auction house says the tag sale is being held for the public Friday and Saturday at the formerly glitzy Central Park landmark, which was known for its over-the-top decor.

It says the bargain-priced items include dinner glasses, vases, floral decorations, gift shop memorabilia and assorted goodies carrying the Tavern's logo.

Tavern on the Green served its last meal and closed its doors on New Year's Eve following financial problems. Many of its most extravagant items such as chandeliers and Tiffany stained glass were auctioned earlier this month to help cover its $8 million debt.

Just three years ago, it was plating more than 700,000 meals annually, bringing in more than $38 million.

But that astronomical sum wasn't enough to keep the landmark restaurant out of bankruptcy court.
