The man, from Jersey City, was unconscious when divers retrieved him from the water early Tuesday night

Authorities say a Jersey City man has died after being pulled from waters off the central New Jersey coast.

Officials said the man, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was unconscious when divers got him out of the water early Tuesday night. He died a short time later at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

It was not immediately known how long the man had been in the water.

Bradley Beach Police said two teenagers were also caught up in the same rough surf, but their father was able to run into the water and rescue the teens, along with police. They were not injured.
