Subway trains briefly bypassed Grand Central Terminal Monday morning while authorities investigated an unattended backpack on a southbound No. 6 train, the MTA and police said.
Authorities received a report about the abandoned pack on the train at about 9:45 a.m. and held the subway at the terminal. The "all clear" was given a short time later.
Regular service resumed on the 4, 5 and 6 lines by 10:15 a.m., but straphangers were advised to expect residual delays.
