5 Suspects Plead Not Guilty in Killing of NYPD Officer

Peter Figoski was killed last week.

Five suspects accused in the fatal shooting of a police officer during a botched robbery in Brooklyn pleaded not guilty Tuesday to murder charges.

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes announced the indictments on Tuesday.

Veteran police officer Peter Figoski was shot in the face last week as he entered a Brooklyn apartment while responding as backup to a 911 call reporting a robbery in progress.

The 47-year-old father of four daughters was buried on Long Island on Monday.

The suspected gunman, Lamont Pride, was charged with first-degree murder. Pride's attorney had no comment.

Four other men were charged with second-degree murder.

Police say the five were trying to rob a marijuana dealer.
