2 Arrested in Car Theft Eyed in JFK-Area Shooting

Police say two suspects in the armed robbery of a mother and daughter near Kennedy Airport have been arrested in an unrelated car theft.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce says two men were arrested in a robbery pattern that spanned Nassau County in suburban Long Island and New York City. Police recovered a stolen white Jetta and Mercedes Benz.

Last week, a masked man in a white Jetta shot a 53-year-old woman in the torso in a hotel parking lot. She is in stable condition.

Police say the attacker tried to rob the 20-year-old daughter. She had no money. He waited for her mother, who was then shot during a struggle.

Police say they haven't charged anyone yet with the shooting, but the investigation is continuing.
