Police Seek Suspect in 3 Sexual Attacks on Long Island

Two attacks occurred in Lynbrook and Valley Stream and in the third, a woman was raped in Valley Stream State Park

Police are investigating whether one suspect was responsible for three sexual attacks on Long Island.

Two occurred on Aug. 12 in Lynbrook and Valley Stream. In the third, a 60-year-old woman was raped in Valley Stream State Park on Sunday.

Newsday says police are awaiting results of forensic testing to determine if all three are connected.

Police have increased patrols in the vicinity of the attacks.

In the first attack, the suspect rode up on a bike to a house where he forced his way inside. He grabbed a 58-year-old woman's buttocks and tried to rip off her shirt. She was able to fend him off and he fled. About 30 minutes later, he rode up to a woman walking from the train station and attempted the same thing.
