Armed Suspect Shot by Cop Arrested in Brooklyn

A 31-year-old armed suspect wounded by a police officer in Brooklyn has been arrested.

Alexis McIntyre of Brooklyn was charged Wednesday with criminal possession of a weapon.

Police responded to Glenmore Avenue in East New York Tuesday afternoon after receiving a tip that a man illegally residing there was in possession of a gun.

When officers surrounded the home, McIntyre allegedly attempted to exit the back door and was confronted by a police officer who ordered him to drop his weapon.

Police say the suspect did not comply and the officer fired once, striking him in the torso. McIntyre was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Police recovered a .38 caliber revolver.
