Suspect Nabbed in Westchester Roadside Body Case: Police

Police arrested a suspect Saturday in the case of a body found last month by a jogger in Westchester County.

Joaquin Recinos-Garcia, 27, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 52-year-old Luis Blanco, of Yonkers, Village of Ossining Police Chief Joseph Burton Jr. said.

On Aug. 24, a jogger running on Somerstown Road in Ossining spotted a body in tall grass near the intersection with Tavano Road. The local medical examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that the body was the victim of a homicide.

The victim, who had died of multiple stab wounds, was later identified as Blanco.

No information was available as to whether Recinos=Garcia had obtained a lawyer who could comment on the charge.
