Escaped Suspect Caught After 2 Days on the Lam: NYPD

A suspected robber who escaped police custody in SoHo was caught Sunday after two days at large, police said. 

Derek Robinson, 39, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with petit larceny and escape, the NYPD said. 

On Friday, police were placing Robinson custody at Spring Street and Broadway when he fled on Mercer Street, the NYPD said. 

At the same time, police arrested Alize Scruggs, 21, of Cameron, North Carolina. She was charged with petit larceny, possession of burglar tools and criminal possession of stolen property.
