Handcuffed Suspect Runs Out of Parked Police Vehicle, Escapes Custody in Brooklyn: NYPD

Police are searching for a handcuffed suspect who escaped from a police car that was parked in Brooklyn Monday evening.

Daniel Thomas, 26, escaped while the vehicle was parked on Atlantic and Vanderbilt avenues in Prospect Heights, according to police.

He was in handcuffs when he ran away, police. 

He's described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and was last seen wearing a white shirt, a jacket with gold zippers and two gold earrings in each ear. 

Police haven't released the charges on which Thomas had been arrested.

It wasn't clear where he was being taken when he escaped.
