Suspect Arrested in Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash After Parking Lot Fight

A man intentionally drove into another man in a parking lot, killing him, after the pair fought outside a Long Island pub, police said Sunday.

Shatik Canady, 41, of West Babylon, was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death of 28-year-old Kawon Williams, Suffolk County police said.

The men were fighting Saturday just before dawn in the parking lot of the BrewHaus Pub in Lindenhurst, Suffolk County police say. Then Williams was struck by a vehicle that drove off.

Williams, of Wyandanch, was pronounced dead at the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Canady had an attorney.
