Police said they have arrested a man in connection with a shooting in a Bronx park Friday evening that injured a 3-year-old boy and a 36-year-old man.

Alexis Tatis, 27, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and assault.

Tatis fired shots inside Vidalia Park at East 180th Street and Daly Avenue that grazed the toddler in the arm and wounded another man in the leg, police said.

Both of the victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and officials said their injuries were not life-threatening.

Information on a lawyer for Tatis was not immediately available.

South Bronx resident Sabrina Mendez was inside the park when she heard three gunshots. She initially thought they were firecrackers but then saw the gun smoke.

"Everybody ran," she said. "People started yelling, screaming, looking for their kids, calling their kids."
