Subway Surfer Dies Riding Atop 6 Train: NYPD

A subway surfer riding atop a northbound 6 train in the Bronx Wednesday night was killed when he hit a structure hanging over the elevated track, authorities say.
 
Police say the man hit the object as he rode on top of the train from the Whitlock Avenue station to the Elder Avenue station in Soundview around 10:15 p.m.
 
He suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. 
 
DNAInfo reports the man was 45 years old. His name has not been released.
