Normal Service Resumes After Water, Signal Problems Disrupt 8 Subway Lines

Eight subway lines were disrupted for nearly two hours Monday morning due to water and signal problems at one of the mass transit system's busiest stations.

The MTA said that normal service resumed on the A, B, C, D, E, F, M and R lines at about 10:15 a.m. following the issues at 59th Street - Columbus Circle earlier in the morning.

Residual delays should be expected.

The issues were spurred by flooding on the tracks near Columbus Circle, according to amNewYork. MTA officials told the news outlet that the flooding was caused by a building at street level.

The issues forced the MTA to suspend service on some lines and route trains on alternate tracks from upper Manhattan to Coney Island.
