66-Year-Old Subway Rider Suffers Broken Rib in Brutal Robbery: NYPD

Police are searching for the subway rider who brutally beat a 66-year-old man as he robbed him on the train, authorities say. 

The attacker approached the victim on a Manhattan-bound M train in Bushwick close to midnight Sunday, police said. He knocked the man to the floor, then kicked and punched him before taking his wallet and cellphone.

The suspect fled at the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenue station.

The victim was taken to the hospital with cuts to his face and a broken rib. He was in stable condition.

The suspect is described as being about 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches and 175 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
