Suspect in Queens Subway Push Fit to Stand Trial

A Queens woman accused of shoving a man to his death  in front of an oncoming No. 7 train because she believed he was Muslim has been found fit to stand trial.

Erika Menendez was charged with murder in the death of 46-year-old Sunando Sen. He was shoved off a Queens subway platform on Dec. 29.

According to court documents, Menendez told police that she did it because she hates Muslims and thought he observed that faith. Sen was Hindu.

A judge announced at a hearing Monday that Menendez had been found fit for trial. She did not appear in court. An attorney hired by her family says she remains hospitalized.

Menendez will be arraigned on an indictment Jan. 29.
