Subway Cleaner Helps Woman Give Birth on Train Platform

Just when you thought you’ve seen it all on the subway.

The MTA worker was about halfway through her shift when she helped a woman give birth on the platform of the 4/5/6 at the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall subway platform, according to officials.

Madeline Ramos, who cleans the station, heard the mother Shuping Chen around 3 a.m. Monday and helped her lie down on the floor, according to officials. Less than a minute later, Ramos caught the baby.

Police sources told the New York Post, which first reported the birth, the mother and her baby boy are at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and are in good condition.
