This surveillance video shows a 13-year-old girl running after a stranger allegedly tried to grab her as she walked to her bus stop on Long Island.
A Long Island middle school student was grabbed from behind by a man who approached her as she was walking to her bus stop Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Police say the Elmwood Middle School student was walking north on Morris Avenue, a dirt path that leads to her Delamere Street bus stop, just before 7 a.m. when the man sneaked up behind and reached for her.
The 13-year-old girl punched the man, forcing him to release her, and she ran to her bus stop.
The man is described as being about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a skull cap.
Anyone with information is asked to call Second Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8268 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
