Stray Pig Found in Frat House Backyard

Peyton the pig is now looking for a new home

Animal rescue workers in New Rochelle want to find a new home for Peyton, a stray pig that wandered into the backyard of a local fraternity house Sunday.

New Rochelle Humane Society manager Dana Rocco said she and another shelter worker were called to the Iona College frat house backyard to help pick up the small white male pig.

The shelter workers helped get Peyton into the rescue van and to the shelter, where they gave him a warm blanket, some food and a hearty back scratch.

Monday, he kept the staff company in the shelter's front lobby, documented on the shelter's Facebook page.

Rocco said she's reached out to several farm sanctuaries to house the pig. In the meantime, Peyton remains in the New Rochelle Humane Society's care.
