Stranger Approaches, Knocks Out Woman on Subway Platform: NYPD

A 26-year-old subway rider was punched unconscious by a hulking stranger who approached and threatened her at a subway station in lower Manhattan, police say.

Cops are now searching for the 6-foot-4, 250-pound suspect in the June 14 incident.

Police said the suspect approached the victim from behind at the Bowling Green station last Tuesday evening and without provocation, told her he was going to slap her. He then punched her, knocking her unconscious.

The victim crumpled to the ground and the suspect ran off, police said.

The victim suffered a cut to her lip and bruising to her face. She was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information on the suspect, who's about 6-foot-4 to 6-foot-5, 30 to 40 years old and 250 pounds, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
