The Fairfield American Little League team may be down, but they're not out of the Little League World Series.
The team took a beating from a team from Pearland, Texas Sunday night. The 14-1 baseball bashing included a seven-run second inning by Pearland. The game was shortened by the mercy rule.
It's the first loss for Fairfield in the double elimination tournament in Williamsport, Penn.
They will be back on the diamond Monday night to take on the team from Auburn, Wash. It's the same team Fairfield beat it their opening round of the Little League World Series. If they can beat Auburn again, Fairfield will have to play Pearland for a second time if they want to advance.
