Police say a teenager has admitted vandalizing the campaign office of New York Congressman Michael Grimm.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne says the eighth grader told a school counselor that he and a friend had broken a window over the weekend at the office on Staten Island.

The spokesman said Tuesday that the boy was expected to be charged as a juvenile with criminal mischief.

Grimm had reported the incident as a break-in. He also has alleged that someone had tampered with a computer server containing sensitive campaign information.

Browne said investigators were still examining the server.
