Staten Island High School Evacuated After Electrical Panels Start Smoking

Tottenville High School on Staten Island was evacuated Friday morning after part of the school lost power and electrical panels began smoking.

The school on Luten Avenue partly lost power at around 8:15 a.m. 

Smoke was seen coming from the panels on the third floor, the Department of Education said.

The building was evacuated and FDNY was responding.

Students were relocated to other schools for the day.
