    Brush fire at former landfill site on Staten Island

    Firefighters were working Thursday night to put out hot spots from a brush fire on Staten Island.

    The fire started just before 8 p.m. near Shelley and Watson avenues. Flames were confined to the former landfill site there.

    It's not clear how the fire started. There were no reports of injuries.
